Call for Papers

The Faculty of Economics of the Technical University of Košice would like to invite doctoral students to the International Scientific Conference for Doctoral Students IDEA 2025, which will be held on May 20-21, 2025 at the Faculty of Economics of the Technical University of Košice.

The conference is organized under the auspices of Assoc. Prof. Michal Šoltés, PhD., Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Technical University of Košice.

The main aim of this International Conference for Doctoral Students IDEA 2025 is to provide a collaborative platform for emerging scholars to present their research, exchange ideas, and engage in discussions with peers and established experts. The conference seeks to foster intellectual growth, stimulate interdisciplinary dialogue, and contribute to the development of innovative solutions to contemporary challenges in economics and finance. By promoting academic networking and encouraging critical thinking, the event aims to enhance the research capabilities of doctoral students and support their integration into the global academic community. Additionally, the conference serves as an opportunity for students to refine their academic skills, receive constructive feedback, and explore potential avenues for future research collaborations.

The conference allows doctoral students to present their research and discuss new trends and methodologies in four selected topics:

The condition for participation in the conference is to submit an article in English language, ranging from 5 to 7 pages, in Microsoft Word format. The number of authors should not exceed five. The paper should be submitted as blind version in PDF format. After acceptance, the author will be asked to upload final revised version of the paper in PDF format and Microsoft Word format by March 19, 2025.

Each submission will be reviewed, and the authors will be informed of the results of the review process no later than March 1, 2025.

Information for presenters

The presentation should be in the ppt. format, and should not be longer than 10-12 minutes. The time slot for one presentation is 15 minutes including questions from the audience. It is possible to present your contributions online or in person in English or Slovak.

In both cases, you must upload your presentation to the system no later than March 19, 2025.

The conference languages are English and Slovak.

Submission Preparation Checklist

The authors warrant that the work is original and that it contains no content that is illegal or violates any proprietary right or any copyright.

The submission has not been previously published, nor is it considered in another journal (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).

The submission file is in the Microsoft Word document file format, following a provided template.

Conference outputs

The conference output will be a peer-reviewed collection of contributions, which will be sent to conference participants after the conference. Each active participant will receive a certificate of presentation of their scientific contribution at an international scientific conference.

Payment Details

Registration fee

All participants who wish to attend the conference (active participation) must pay the registration fee, which includes organization expenses, refreshment during the conference and proceedings. The registration fee is non-refundable.

The registration fee for the active participation at the conference is 30 €. PhD students of the Faculty of Economics, Technical University of KoŠice have the opportunity to attend the conference free of charge.

Non-presenting participants are also welcome after registration without registration fee.

The registration fee must be paid by March 15, 2025. In the case of absence, the conference fee is not refundable.
