Call for Abstracts

The Faculty of Economics of the Technical University of Košice would like to invite doctoral students to the International Scientific Conference for Doctoral Students IDEA 2026, which will be held on June 10-11, 2026 at the Faculty of Economics of the Technical University of Košice.

The conference is organized under the auspices of Assoc. Prof. Michal Šoltés, PhD., Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Technical University of Košice.

The main aim of this International Conference for Doctoral Students IDEA 2026 is to provide a collaborative platform for emerging scholars to present their research, exchange ideas, and engage in discussions with peers and established experts. The conference seeks to foster intellectual growth, stimulate interdisciplinary dialogue, and contribute to the development of innovative solutions to contemporary challenges in economics and finance. By promoting academic networking and encouraging critical thinking, the event aims to enhance the research capabilities of doctoral students and support their integration into the global academic community. Additionally, the conference serves as an opportunity for students to refine their academic skills, receive constructive feedback, and explore potential avenues for future research collaborations.

The conference allows doctoral students to present their research and discuss new trends and methodologies in four selected topics:

• Finance, Banking, and Investment
• Economics and Regional Development
• Management and Marketing
• Economic Informatics

Instructions

The condition for participation in the conference is to submit an extended abstract in English language in Microsoft Word format. The number of authors should not exceed five.

General Requirements

• Length: Strictly limited to one (1) A4 page.
• Language: English.
• Format: Submissions must follow the official conference template.
• File Type: Please submit your abstract in MS Word format.

Structure of the Extended Abstract

• Title & Author Information: A clear, descriptive title followed by the author’s name, affiliation, and contact email.
• Keywords: Use 3–5 keywords to categorize your work.
• Introduction: Define the research problem, its significance, and the main objectives of your study.
• Methodology: Describe the methods, tools, or theoretical frameworks used in your research.
• Results & Discussion: Present your key findings.
• Conclusion: Summarize the contribution of your work and suggest potential future directions.
• References: List only the most essential sources (maximum 3 references) in a APA citation format.

Important Note: Submissions exceeding the one-page limit or failing to follow the provided template will be returned for revision or may be rejected.

Registration Fee: There is no registration fee for this conference. Participation is free of charge for all attendees.

Each submission will be reviewed, and the authors will be informed of the results of the review process no later than May 14, 2026.

Information for presenters

The presentation should be in the PPT or PDF format, and should not be longer than 10-12 minutes. The time slot for one presentation is 15 minutes including questions from the audience. It is possible to present your contributions online or in person in English or Slovak.

In both cases, you must upload your presentation to the system no later than June 08, 2026.

Submission Preparation Checklist

• The authors warrant that the work is original and that it contains no content that is illegal or violates any proprietary right or any copyright.
• The submission has not been previously published, nor is it considered in another journal (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
• The submission file is in the Microsoft Word document file format, following a provided template.

Conference outputs

The conference output will be a peer-reviewed collection of extended abstracts, which will be sent to conference participants after the conference. Each active participant will receive a certificate of presentation of their scientific contribution at an international scientific conference.
