The Faculty of Economics of the Technical University of Košice invites doctoral students to the International Scientific Conference for Doctoral Students IDEA 2026, to be held on June 10–11, 2026 at the Faculty of Economics of the Technical University of Košice.
The conference is organized under the auspices of Assoc. Prof. Michal Šoltés, PhD., Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Technical University of Košice.
The main aim of IDEA 2026 is to provide a collaborative platform for emerging scholars to present their research, exchange ideas, and engage in discussions with peers and established experts. The conference seeks to foster intellectual growth, stimulate interdisciplinary dialogue, and contribute to the development of innovative solutions to contemporary challenges in economics and finance.
The conference allows doctoral students to present their research and discuss new trends and methodologies in four selected topics:
StEP Award: Best Student Economic Paper
As part of the IDEA 2026 international doctoral conference, a competitive section titled the StEP Award will be held. This initiative aims to motivate doctoral students to produce high-quality scientific outputs and to recognize their contribution to research in the field of economic sciences.
The winner receives the StEP Award Certificate and the opportunity to publish their paper in the partner scientific journal E&M Economics and Management, indexed in Web of Science and Scopus. Publication of the winning paper is free of charge — the standard Article Processing Charge is waived for the winner.
- Open to full-time or part-time PhD students who are the lead authors of submitted work.
- Formally register for IDEA 2026 and present your research at the conference.
- Upload a standard contribution per conference guidelines (published in proceedings with ISBN).
- Upload a Full Research Paper in two versions: full identification + anonymized (blinded).
An expert jury evaluates papers anonymously. Each paper can earn up to 120 points across four categories: scientific contribution, methodology, literature review, and formal quality (including English proficiency).
